Practice Arena

Solve coding challenges in the browser and check them with real tests: Java basics first, then plugin logic.

BeginnerTool

Learn to write real Paper plugins by doing it. Each challenge is a small, guided task with its own code editor. Press Check and the guide runs real tests against your code, then tells you in plain English what works and what to fix.

How a challenge works

  1. Read the goal

It says exactly what players should see in the game, and shows a preview of it.
  2. Follow the steps

The Learn box explains the few API pieces you need. The steps tell you which file to open and where to type.
  3. Press Check

The guide compiles your code and runs a set of tests against a pretend Minecraft server. Green means it works. Red tells you what went wrong and what to try.
  4. Use hints when you are stuck

Hints appear one at a time, from a small nudge to the full answer. The solution is there too, and it asks before it shows itself.

The three tracks

  • Plugin Path is the main route. It starts with your first listener and grows, step by step, into commands, timers and config. Do these in order if you are new.
  • Plugin Skills are bigger plugin tasks for when the path feels comfortable.
  • Java warm-ups are short Java exercises, each one a small piece of a real plugin, like turning seconds into ticks.

Every solved challenge earns XP, shown in the bar at the top of the page, like the experience bar in Minecraft. Chapters of this guide also link to the challenges that practice what they teach.
